Senior Walk in Alexandria! Help us to get seniors on their feet and walking and to add walking to a daily routine. The walk will start in Oronoco Bay Park, adjacent to the United Way Worldwide Building. Participants will walk North along the walking path and will turn around before they reach the Mt. Vernon Trail and head back South on the walking path ending up back at Oronoco Bay Park adjacent to the United Way Worldwide Building. The walk route is generally flat and travel distances will be marked on the walking path (participants may walk any distance they choose). Admission to the walk will be $25. Water will be available. Warm up stretching exercises will take place before the walk and “cool down” exercises will take place when it is over. Experts on nutrition and exercise for seniors will be available for a chat.
Net proceeds will benefit United Way of the National Capital Area.
